New & Improved: v6

Just last night; our developer Peter fired me an email to say that our Blog had been branded to match our new design; “ohhh, let me have a look I thought!” I quite like it and thought I would be the second person to write something. Our support guys, who wanted to show off their new iPad were the first.

It also occurred to me this morning that given the current re-branding effort across all v6’s websites and portals that we have still to publish a lot of key information and articles on our products, services and experience in migrating to cloud platforms.

I and v6 have been in “messaging” since Apple launched eWorld, (c1996) which was a mini-internet service from Apple that I used to connect to at a blistering 14.4 BPS. It was brilliant at the time. I am not sure what became of eWorld, maybe I need to go and look.

Since then, we have moved on massively and in looking at our customers, there are some that have been with us for over 10 years; a very long time in technology. They have almost had the same services all along, managed domain services, perimeter threat scanning (Anti-Virus, malware etc) and their website. It’s a real testament to the team to have retained customers for that long. I am encouraged that our personable approach keeps customers happy. This was forefront in our agency discussions on website design.

I also thought that while we are having all of the creative work done, I would highlight here all of the products we have, some of the experience we have gained and who we have worked with.

Control Panel: Help yourself.

Control Panel: Help yourself.

On the products side, it normally all starts with a nice (or maybe not!) domain name. We then bolt on via the customer control panel all of the desired services; Managed Exchange, perhaps with Blackberry Mobile Messaging and some Archiving (and Compliance) to keep your (up to) 4Gb mailbox in check.

Moving to your website, we can “make” that out of Linux, or Windows (including Sharepoint!) and of course bolt on as much storage as you need. There are also control panels from cPanel & Plesk if you need them.

We can offer a hosted VoIP Phone solution, which if we think about our latest solution for remote & mobile workers, gives the option to reduce the cost of city centre office space, provide a degree of flexibility to staff and increase productivity by reducing travel time. Of course it’s still good to get together now and again, so some “hot desking” can be catered for using our Virtual Desktop product: the same desktop where ever you log in. While mobile or working from home, the same number to call to and from as well. Ohh, the convenience.

On the experience front, well let’s just say that we co-own and are founder-members of TeamMEDD, a team of globally distributed “migrationists”; if such a word exists? Maybe I just invented it. A team of highly mobile, quick engaging, truly brilliant people who have been there, done it and continue to do so.

TeamMEDD: Ready when you are!

They have been described as the “Oceans 11” of Global Integration. We come together for that big job: We plan, we execute, and we scatter into other fields across the globe.

MEDD, (Migration of Email, Directories & Desktop) the actual program of work, has been carried out in full or in part at DHL, Getinge (via Orange Business Services), Barclays, Scottish Water (via Fujitsu Services) and perhaps more locally in the UK at the British Institute of Facilities Management, a not-for-profit trade organisation.

BIFM: Helpdesk via Kayako

All in all, great on-demand options for business bringing flexibility, cost-savings and control, literally at your fingertips.

v6 Support Portal: Self help or we help!!

v6: intelligent technology from the cloud.
